Location

Essex County is the second largest county in New York State. Mountain Lake Services is one of Essex County's largest employers.

Our main offices are in Port Henry, NY. We are accessible from the New York State Northway (Route I-87) and several major New York State highways (Routes 9, 9N, and 22). Port Henry is on the shore of Lake Champlain, about 8 miles north of the Crown Point bridge that connects Crown Point to Vermont.

Port Henry is:

• 1 hour south of Plattsburgh, NY
• 1.5 hours south of Burlington, VT
• 2.5 hours south of Montreal, QC
• 1 hour east of Lake Placid and Saranac Lake, NY
• 2 to 2.5 hours north of Saratoga, Albany, and the Capital District region

Port Henry is in the Adirondack State Park, the country's largest state park. The Adirondacks are a singularly beautiful area, offering a quiet, relaxed life with many recreational amenities, including sailing, canoeing, hiking, backpacking, camping, snowshoeing, swimming, etc. Many people are pleasantly surprised at being able to relax in the Adirondacks' warm summers and cold winters, far from frenetic urban hustle and bustle found elsewhere.

Several hospitals are within an hour's driving distance: Moses Ludington Hospital, Elizabethtown Hospital, and CVPH in Plattsburgh, NY.

Driving Directions

These directions lead you to our main offices in Port Henry, NY. Directions to our other facilities will be provided upon request.

North, Northeast, and Northwest

1. Take I-87 South to Exit 31/Westport. Turn left off the Exit 31 exit ramp onto Route 9, heading east toward Westport and Lake Champlain.
2. Continue through Westport and drive approximately 10 miles, during which you will be on Route 9N/22. You will eventually see a sign for Port Henry on your right.
3. Continue into Port Henry, across a bridge and up a steep hill. At the top of the hill, turn left.
4. Proceed half a block down Main Street, and take the first left turn you see. This left turn is across the street from the red brick Glens Falls National Bank branch building, and next to Mac's Market, which has a large parking lot in front.
5. Proceed down the road and park in the parking lot near St. Patrick's Church.
6. The Administration office is in the large brick building with the blue awning, the first office off to your right as you drive into the parking lot.

South, Southeast, and Southwest

1. Take I-87 North to Exit 28/Schroon Lake. As you come off the exit, you will come to a 4-way intersection with a blinking red light. Continue straight ahead on this road, which is Route 74.
2. Follow Route 74 for about 16 miles into Ticonderoga. When you reach Ticonderoga, you will arrive at a traffic light, and Tops will be on your left.
3. Turn left at this light onto Route 9N/22. Follow this road through Crown Point. In Crown Point, this road will make a sharp left; keep following the road.
4. You will arrive at another 4-way intersection, where Route 9N/22 turns right. Turn right here on Route 9N/22, and continue on into Port Henry, past Stewart's. This right turn is across the street from the red brick Glens Falls National Bank branch building, and next to Mac's Market, which has a large parking lot in front.
5. Next to the parking lot, you will see a small road. Proceed down this road and park in the parking lot near St. Patrick's Church.
6. The Administration office is in the large brick building with the blue awning, the first office off to your right as you drive into the parking lot.
